Just a reminder that the winter
months are quickly approaching. It is
each resident’s responsibility to make sure your home is winterized and
prepared for winter. All garden hoses should be removed from outside faucets
and the faucets should be free from dripping water. Make sure that you do not
have water or sewer leaks under your home. Once any leaks have been corrected,
properly wrap the water pipes with insulation and heat tape. The insulation and
heat tape should also cover the outside connection pipes and meters. Each
resident should also make sure that the skirting located at the bottom portion
of the home is fastened and secure. This
will help protect the pipes underneath the home from unnecessary exposure to
cold temperatures, as open skirting acts as a wind tunnel and keeps the cold
air trapped under the home. Taking these
preventative steps will not only help keep pipes from freezing, but will help
with the energy costs of heating your home.
The mobile home park is not responsible for broken or frozen
pipes so it is very important that you ensure your home is properly
prepared.

Successful Cain's View Community Celebration 2016!
I am finally able to take a moment to reflect back at our Cain's View Estates Community Celebration this past weekend on July 9th. I just have to say that personally I had one of the best times I could ever recall connecting with such great individuals in our community!
![]() |
| Group Photo of a few residents & guests that attended the July 9, 2016 celebration |
Special thanks to our Co-Hosts Cheryl Johnson & June Ries who make their homes in Cain's View Estates. I am so grateful for all the time and effort they put into this event. It simply started with an idea and from there these ladies were able to take that excitement and motivate others in this community to volunteer and make this event happen. This handful of residents planned everything from the biggest to littlest details that made this event one of kind that many of us will be talking about for a very long time!

| June Ries -Co Host with our first two door prize winners! |
Plans started to take shape back in April 2016. Cain's View Estates hosted a Spring Breakfast at our community room with those attending bringing a dish.
This really was just a way to get out and meet the neighbors as we anticipated spring around the corner. This event was well attended so talk began about doing something spectacular for the Summer to Celebrate since we have a great space for it.
It all started with an idea. In the end so many hands had a part in this!
The food was great - Most was donated! Indoor & Outdoor Decorations appeared pretty fancy! The grilling crew in my opinion was one of the best! The DJ rocked the party while all kinds of other activities kept those in attendance occupied. The weather was warm but we had a set up crew that made it possible for those outdoors to enjoy their time in the shade!
To show appreciation for all that attended there were all kinds of prizes that were generously donated by businesses and merchants in our area.
So many prizes in fact that nobody should have left empty handed!
The inflatable house was never empty - A huge thank you to the individuals that did the pick up, drop off and set up for this as well as volunteered to supervise this during the celebration!
It was fun to see all the smiles whether it was someone getting their face painted or they just won a price for winning one of the many games that were played that afternoon! I have lots of Photo's I could share! If you do too please let me know.
The City of Sioux Falls Police Department as well as Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue joined us to Celebrate! I am so proud that we make Sioux Falls our home and have these brave individuals as a part of our community! We all shared the afternoon together with food, games, & conversation. I am certain that new faces and friendships were formed that day!
I am so grateful for all the time and effort of those in the neighborhood that volunteered to make this event happen and to have planned everything from the smallest to largest detail that made this event one of kind that many of use will be talking about for a very long time!
I would encourage anyone that attended to share their experience, photos and expectations for what our next community celebration can be!

There is No reason to be bored!
Can you believe that we are already half way through the month of June? Where did the time go?
Once again we are doing a Monday Moonlight Movie tonight at 9 pm. We start the movie at 9 pm but feel free to stop by earlier to find your cozy movie spot for you and your family and friends if you invite them and we will have some popcorn for everyone! Last Monday we kicked off our first movie night and I felt we had a pretty good turnout. I wasn't too sure if the weather would cooperate but it actually did. It turned out to be a beautiful night for an outdoor movie! Looking forward to more!
That night we had a visit from our very own officers from the Sioux Falls Police Department that work the beat in our neighborhood! They took time to join us in some community time right here where you make your home. They weren't able to stay for the entire movie but just long enough to share some popcorn, soda's and some conversation. They said what a great idea this is and thanked us for including them. They will try to make time to stop by when we do movies in the future as well.
I would like to thank Cheryl Johnson one of your neighbors here in Cain's View Estates for volunteering her time to coordinate and set up for the evening movies. It couldn't be done without the assistance of her volunteering.
If you are not yet on the Next door app for our neighborhood call or email so I can help you with that. It really is a great tool. If your finding that your receiving too many alerts or emails on it you will want to go on and adjust your account settings. I'll have a laptop set up at movie night and I would be more than happy to help those of you get set up or change your settings to your liking.
June 25 - Final Planning Session for Community Block Party to be held July 9
The count down is here! Final details are being made for the upcoming Block party. Those of you that would like to participate in planning contact your neighbor here in Cain's View Estates June Ries. Again we have Food Planned, DJ/Music with a MC planned for Fun and entertainment as well as an inflatable for the youngsters and much much more. Mark your calendar and hope to see you then.
As always Thank you for choosing to make Cain's View Estates your home!

Monday Moonlight Movie - June 6 and other Announcements!
Hello Everyone! As promised earlier with our first blog entry I told you that our goal is to bring together a larger sense of community to all of our residents! We are doing that with some upcoming events and announcements!
Perhaps you might have noticed the wood frames constructed at each of the mailbox units recently? Just to let you know they are being used as a community message board. Thank you to Greg Micko for volunteering his ingenuity on designing these items to be used as a tool to communicate in real time any upcoming community events in our neighborhood.
We will be planning on using it this Monday June 6 to announce our first ever moonlight movie presentation at dusk on the Big Screen. Despicable Me is the planned Movie. Bring your lawn chair, blanket or both and enjoy some freshly popped popcorn!
Some other things to finally look forward to is the planting of some annuals in the empty flower bed at the community room. It will most definitely beautify that space. Feel free to stop by and say hi if you happen to see me planting away!
We have a couple new neighbors that just moved in this past week as well as some new neighbors planning their move in date in the next couple of weeks. Please help me in making them feel at "home " in the neighborhood! Our neighborhood app is working wonderfully and hope our residents continue to use it since it is a great communication tool for me as well as helping our neighbors connect! A reminder as always we love referrals! If you like where you live and love to have some free rent.... All you have to do is refer your friends, family and acquaintances to live in Cain's View Estates.
Couple of housekeeping items. If you have a streetlight, traffic sign, utility box or fire hydrant or fencing on your home site I am reminding those of you that haven't been trimming around them to be sure to do so. This includes the removal of volunteer trees. I happen to notice just a few that have been neglected. In the most part it has been good so far this spring but just a few items that need that attention to detail.
Be on the look out for more upcoming events and community news! Thank you to all of you that choose to make Cain's View Estates your home!

Severe Weather Safety
Happy Memorial Day! Looking forward to some beautiful weather in our neighborhood! However this time of year can also bring severe weather. Here at Cain's View Estates we monitor weather alerts to assure that our storm shelter is available for access in the event of a Tornado warning. We take our residents safety seriously.
We are a pet friendly community - However no pets are allowed in the shelter if the need should arrive. (Unless of course if it is a registered service animal which I would have documentation of that) You may wish to have an alternative plan to seek shelter if you are not prepared to leave your pet in your home.
Needing to seek shelter would be a stressful situation not only for residents but also a pet and when a pet is under stress it can do unpredictable things which would not be a good situation. Please remember this if the time should ever come to seek shelter.
If your not already on our neighborhood app as a resident in Cain's View Estates I strongly encourage you to join. Lots of good things are taking place right here in the neighborhood and we don't want you to miss out! Call me at 605-367-3887 for more information or talk to your neighbor on how to get started chances are they are actively using this awesome neighborhood tool!
